Hey Fellow Thrifter.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, I am so glad you've taken the time to browse my collection of recycled clothing. Little Thrifters club started 3 years ago from the spare corner in the back of my room. Formally known as 'Myboyswardrobe' which was simply created to sell my sons outgrown clothing, as an attempt to becoming more sustainable.

Firstly, A bit about me; my names Kayla, I am a mum to two beautiful, energetic boys who are 3 and 5 years (L + T). I was born and raised in Hamilton, Waikato. Here is where Little Thrifters Club was founded and continues to grow. When I am not rummaging the racks at thrift stores or running around after my babies, you can find me relaxing with a good podcast or playlist (preferably country, true crime or romance) Spending time with my loved ones, in the garden, tending to my indoor plants, at the gym or simply strolling the stores in search of good food and wine. I am never far from a thrift shop when I choose to travel and my go to destination is always Lake Taupo.

Secondly, more about Little Thrifters club. It has been my pride and joy (besides my babies). With the mini store now open in the heart of Hamilton, we're proud to be known as a go to Hamilton Thrift Store. I aim to create an affordable, go to option for all mama's and their children's fashion needs. Although sustainability is commonly known as:

'A social goal for people to co-exist on Earth over a long period of time'

It is also a lifestyle, a choice in which you choose to care for the earth, landfill and our future. Whether it be the common 'plastic-free' environment or something much simpler such as re-useable wipes or shopping bags, either way, they all help make our earth greener for longer. LTC is sustainably conscious in the sense that we aim to reuse clothing that others would consider waste or rubbish. By sourcing, repairing and rehoming garments saved from the landfill and giving them a new lease on life, this is Little Thrifters way of contributing to a brighter, greener and healthier future for our grandchildren's children - the heart of a true Hamilton Thrift store.

From the tiny corner of my room, to opening up a mini boutique in the heart of Hamilton. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, aside from a competing market, the increasing cost of living, fast fashion brands and not to mention the often-disregarded opinion that many people have on resellers. It was a long road, full of ups and downs. Many hours spent rummaging as far as upper north island for goods, travelling to find golden pieces. Money spent with no real profitable earnings, but still the thrill of rehoming gorgeous pieces, giving back to the community and providing a more affordable options for those in need and in awe of the timeless fashion that they can't afford for their babies.

"I take pride over profit and service over sale"

As Little Thrifters continues to grow, we will continue to bring more to the community and aim to do better for the environment and our landfill. I will remain honest and raw when it comes to my content and have full intentions of getting involved with my customers and creating a community of like-minded mums and individuals right here in our Hamilton Thrift Store.

Follow along this journey with us, to support in the greater good of our future tamariki. Stay tuned for updates on Markets, donation/fundraising events and so much more.
